Snow showers overnight in matlock.. nothing laying here but hills toward Middleton/Brassington have a dusting...

Tuesday evening, snow possible (low levels) definite high levels, on back edge of front, seems a similar setup to my only lying snow of last winter Tues 11th Feb, difference was though, that was morning

As it is, we could get a covering of snow that sticks on wednesday and then melts on thursday?

The thought of a whole day where we can play and walk and photograph in the snow, fills me with the most amazing sense of joy imaginable after what we've all been through the past 2 years :-D

I Fereguson over on the MO thread has said they will be issuing any snow warnings for tuesday, tomorrow., when they have the advantage of their more Hires models. He is still expecting snow in the SWest.

Sat 27th upto new years eve was decent for that, was a decent spell, which makes this winter better than last, all last year I had around 2cms of wet snow on Feb 11th, which thawed near enough straight away

Had an hour of sleety snow which covered for around 30 minutes then melted, whereas 40 miles north had brilliant snow (27th dec 2014)

Here was the other period of snow on feb the 11th last year, this didn't stick either :-(

Boxing Day was a lesson that snow in these set ups is a bit of a lottery. Even within our region there were a lot of differences. Some of us did really well and it was a let down for others.

Open minds regarding snow are going to be needed this week!

The situation seems so fluid. The next week is going to be a real test as to how beneficial these set ups really are.

Going to be fun finding out!

More and more snow appearing in MetO forecasts for our area. Temps have also been getting lower. Feeling very hopeful.

Hmmm, interesting........

If there is a possibility of snow for the SW, that strikes me as being good news for us further north i.e. the Midlands.

not really, that looks very much like a streamer moving ENE, from the mouth of the severn, SW parts in a line to the ENE to get a lot of snow
