Off to bed now. No chance of anything tonight now.

Let's be honest, for us here in the Black Country and Brum, that event was a fitting end to one of the most abysmal years for snow I have ever known. Good riddance 2014 snow events!

Snowing here again, but the wind is howlingly strong.

nothing in the bbc forecasts about gales.

I wonder if this storm is going to do something unexpected?

Well, have given up finally. Sigh.

Off to bed for me; maybe there'll be a couple of flurries tomorrow....

Amazing temperature changes here in Northampton. At 18:00 it was 0.9 C and snowing. Temperature gradually rose to 6.7 C at 10:30 with a DP of 6 C - felt quite balmy. Both temp and DP dropped 2 deg in 1/2 hr and now temp down to 0.9 C again. A 12 degree change on 6 hrs.

still snow around, clear as a bell -0.4C, expecting thaw today

I don't think you'll see too much of a thaw. Highs will only be 2 or 3 degrees. There are showers heading this way too but they are weakening as they push inland. I think you'll keep most of your snow as we go through today. Like you told me yesterday, the ground is cold enough.

No snow here, too far south and west I think.

We have managed a frost though, so a little compensation. Enjoy the snow if you have it, you lucky people!

Nice covering this morning, hope it stays around! Won't get to enjoy it though as laid up in bed with awful cold, typical! 😩

Cracking view you have there PM - must be great when it is snowing heavily and you can enjoy a cuppa while watching it pile up outside

None here again, so we are so far following the same track as last year and are in the "no snow" club.

Morning all...

Interesting weather wasn't it?

Here I went to  bed with a temp of 0.2C, dry bit with a gale and a 1cm cover of snow on the grass, and some newly formed snow/ice mix on the pavements and roads. At 3am the wind woke me up, looked out and the snow had gone.

Temperature at 3.0C

Woke up this morning with a minimum of -0.6C and current temp of 1C with aCheshire gap jobie looking at us and the wind in the NWN.. Could be some snow in them apparently.

A weeks weather in 12hrs.

35mm of snow here yesterday evening, ice everywhere this morning temperature 0.9C and dead calm.

Very overcast and gloomy wouldn't be surprised if we don't have another flurry of sleet or snow soon.

The radar shows that there is some about.

Still got more than half cover, though its very wet and wont be around much longer if these rain showers keep piling in. A close call, but 2014 is out of thee no lying snow club.

So those showers are of rain are they?

It is time to get rid of 2014.

Just had a heavy shower here, started as rain but turned to sleet with plenty of 50p flakes of snow mixed in, unfortunately back to rain and now moved away.

Dearie me, what a non-event here. I didn't even get as much as Solihull did, even though we're only just outside.

Ah well, there's always 2015!

(Got to find a way to move to Derbyshire, me thinks)
