Big Snow,

If we batter you in the snowball fight, will you opt for devolution in an effort to send the marauding attackers back home?

MIA

The wind has really picked up, the snow is swirling around. Never seen lightning in such a vivid turquoise colour before that was certainly a first for me!

It's most likely power lines shorting due to being weighed/brought down by the snow sticking to them, as no lightning is showing on the detectors.

We have had it here this evening but due to a different reason - wind.

Bright blueish green flashes just a few houses away.

Also it was over 10c when many of you were reporting snow lol, now down to a chilly 7.5c

Well spotted Fizz, yes it has started again here in the W mids area....

More flakes, less drizzle....

Big Snow,

You never mentioned you had a secret weapon.... kids They have really strong arms for throwing snowballs. Don't fancy it anymore.

Also since you've sent the snow back down here now (Yes its snowing again here now again), I will declare the war officially over.

Really strange that the temperatures dropped steadily again down to 0.4C with continuous grappel (snizzle)  for the last hour, then it has turned back to snow and the temperatuture has 'risen' to 0.6C.

Very unusual weather.

I think the low must be deepening quite quickly now, and this could be good news for our future prospects as it is more likely to send the low pressure down into Italy where we need it to be for an enhanced cold blast.

Very odd nothing in the lightning detector, but we keep getting flashes of blue and green. It's quite nasty out there windy and blizzard like conditions. We've had about 7 Inches now

Kids are the ultimate defence against any attack and they will defend there snow till the bitter end..... yes some very strange weather indeed... we need that low to drop anchor just above Genoa... that would help massively... I get the feeling Jan and Feb are going to provide some very interesting times... and as we know we can still get some fantastic winter weather up here even in spring... March 2013 a repeat of that would do me... 72 hour Blizzard and 10 foot drifts...
