There are still a good 2-3 hours left.

I'm confused by people saying different things...

By the looks of it, the low is still only at W.Wales and has still a fair way to travel - has the pivoting started, or not?

Also, forecasts for the last few days have all said (and still say, jsut checked) that the Telford region will have "torrential" downpour 6-9pm and then snow after that… has this all changed?

We're still getting SSE, so no pivot-effect here. Forecasts say our wind direction will change through the evening to NW and then N, bringing snow with it.

So all the snow we have, has come from SSE.

I have a LOT to learn…

Im thinking a leics/nottingham/derby triangle will benefit from the snow for the longest period of time due to the precip pivoting as it slides south east

certainly sticking now, surely it will pivot over us, never moved through 4 hours earlier than expected

Snowing heavy big flakes here. It was sleet 20 mins ago but it's going well now. Rain today showing only sleet for us that's due to clear in about an hour.

Whole front has moved through much quicker than forecast and more NE, main bulk has already passed through unfortunately.

Tonights event over Lincs/Yorkshire/East Mids mainly now.

I did ask the question on UKWW and apparently the low is currently 50 miles further east than thought at this stage. So it is moving quicker than it should be. The mild sector is currently just nudging southwest Wales...notice how it's around 11C in Pembrokeshire right now! Just think...a hundred odd miles further north and that could have been us! Could have been a complete washout!

Still snowing, press and temp still dropping 1.8c. Some impressive sized snow flakes.

A bit more developing in West Wales at least for now but that pivot dying rapidly over N Ireland now so we can forget about that. Again expect clearing skies from 7pm ish onward for most.

Might not be as over as we thought...

...some of those radar returns to our west over Wales are looking quite strong all of a sudden!

Same here, getting on for a CM already and the roads covered readily, even though they'd been gritted (salt's washed off)

Very wet snow too, sticking to everything (powercut snow)

See my post above. Seems some ppn developing off the sea but sadly the pivot dying over N Ireland now so Wales is our only hope. Wont last much longer imo as the Low moves away.

Fair enough...as the winds turn more northerly, is there a chance of the Irish Sea doing anything for us?
