Well there's a lot of precipitation in south Wales heading this way. If and when that gets here, that will be the sign of how this is going.

Until then, nothing to see really.

Met office have changed the forecast to rain or sleet all the way through now here...typical, how can they not have known that earlier

The Met Office have changed nothing.

The not-a-forecast is just a visual representation of the latest model output and changes accordingly every 6 hours, regardless of what the human forecasters think :)

Right, who's coming down to the bookies with me to bet on this year having no days with lying snow lasting more than 1 day?

We cannot lose!! We have the upper hand and will make a fortune :-D

Very heavy wet sleet and snow here now, but has zero chance of settling as the ground is too wet.

What the hell is wrong with the weather that they can get more snow in Saudi Arabia and Jordan than in the UK, over 1000 miles north??

Right, ok, so we have February left.....please, please, please, please can some god or other, get their act together? :-D

Get the rope!!!

Gutted if this does not come off. In Cannock we gave a dusting and is a degree or two cooler than Wolverhampton where it was more sleety.

Anyone know when the next load is coming ?

If not will load the gun in readiness

Hello.

Not to ramp things, but the small anticyclone that is developing could well run out in favor of snow over the mids.

NW Extra Euro 4 (lite) showing a good run of snow for several hours, like Tony said the cooler upper air is pushed aside from the atlantic, -3uppers in a few hours.

(check sat 24 in infared you will see whats going on)

Sorry for spellings ive been up 19hrs.

In which direction is the low pressure moving? I would think that's quite a key factor right now.

If it's moving southeast, we have a chance.

The mild sector is meant to go more sw so from around 11 until 4 should be the time heavy snow is possible

and the wind direction change will make it colder. Then we can judge way too early yet

Not to be pedantic but an anti-cyclone is high pressure.

Typical, just like Boxing Day in the mild sector after 45 minutes of snow again, up to 1.9c now from 0.8c an hour ago.
