18Z is an upgrade on the 12z which is something but had it followed the 06z we would be saying definate downgrade. Still wants to push precip all the way through the midlands. Hopefully that doesnt happen and it stalls over us.

Just need the trend to continue.

As others have said, GFS not high enough resolution for accurate PPN distribution at this timescale. Maybe best to just ignore now and concentrate on EURO4 and NMM as you said.

Currently 0.4°C under patchy cloud. Dew Point is -2.1°C

I'm finding it difficult to get particularly excited about tomorrow night, to be honest. I absolutely hate these ultra-marginal will it/won't it events.

Temperature dropping like a stone in the last hour, now -1.5°C with a Dp of -3.3°C

Shafali on Midlands today just said "snow not high on the agenda" for this week.

Main BBC forecast saying snow limited to Wales and west Midlands, so they are going with the EURO 4 model.

Just watched news 24 and it had the front pushing all the way thru to east....snow for many by the look of it... marginal to say the least but better than no chance at all...

Yes Bish,

Was surprised as the last time I checked I was at 1.4C.

The sky cleared about an hour ago and now the temp has just fallen to -1.9C here

My Dew Point is an amazing -6.1C with much dryer air suddenly appearing with the clearance.

Well that ought to be cold enough for snow!!!.

Just watched BBC weather and they indicated that cold temps would be around for 3 - 4 days.

They clearly are going with the precipitation dieing out tomorrow night over us. Even didn;'t show any smow over the Midlands.

He did say that snow could pop up anywhere in the next few days though.

So uncertainty still abounds.

I am still positive though,  as the precipitation coming out of Southern Ireland has nearly reached the Scilly islands and Pembrokeshire now,  and is still being shown as sleet from the middle of the Bristol Channel northwards and snow from Cork northwards. I still think something is developing over S Ireland and it will be picked up by morning..

,

MIA

lol I'd forgotten about your dislike for Shefali, the poor girl

I can't see what the problem with her is? Or do you just dislike regional weather forecasts in general?

Just me or has EURO4 underplayed precipitation volume across ireland ? Compared the current radar image to the 18z EURO4 and the EURO4 has the PPN volume covering much less of ireland than it is in reality.

Current radar V 18z EURO4:

Latest wrf nmm very good for the midlands!! All snow and stalls in the north midlands!! Now down to the euro4!

Where are you viewing the NMM ? It's still on the 12z on Netweathers viewer.
