Just watched East Midlands weather on bbc and the presenter finished off with a heads up to something colder next week.... lovely lady indeed.. infact I could watch her present a cold spell any day...even if she mentioned a warm sector....lol

Who was that? If it was Anna Church I fully agree! She's smokinnnn as 'The Mask' used to say!

Would that be the fantastically-named Sara Blizzard by any chance?

She clearly has an extremely short fuse:

Must be on the thaw this evening though TM? 10c here.

A fairly slow thaw, Tony. It's only 3.0c here, and the cold front not far away.

Keep on chasing those FI charts. Pretty but so unlikely at this point.

I for one am really starting to crave Spring now. Last 2 days have been very pleasant and gorgeous here in Cornwall and with little wind its been pleasant in the sunshine. :)

Torrential rain here. And what irritates me further as we have had no lying snow in these parts so far this winter, after last week's disappointment, I thought "we'll I'm off to Oslo on Tuesday for 3 days, so surely will see snow". A few days ago it looked good. Now, even on Thursday it looks marginal, in Oslo. I'm cursing my luck. If I see no snow there I've got another bite at the cherry as off to Calgary in Canada last week of February (this is all work related, not a choice - rather snow on my doorstep). But the way this is going they'll be an early Chinook wind and it will 20 degrees.

Weather girl crushes eh? My flat mate at Lancaster University many years ago is now married to the weather presenter on BBC London, just had a kid. But he is some sort of internet security millionaire has lots of flash cars etc etc. so that's how.

My mistake it is the BBC south-east news and Kaddy-Lee who is a proper meteorologist. Baby pics on Facebook shared by my mate. Must still be on Mat leave.

I haven't seem him for 10 years despite Facebook. Only worked out his wife was her when he posted a clip of banter with the news presenters commenting on her bump.

IT was on Flash Lane and around Beely moor, on the road to Chesterfield. Alao deep snow at top of Syndnop Hill.

can be easy to reach because they open the road to Chesterfield top of Slack Hill then can drive along the top roads, pretty flat. no big hills to

descend, ha ha always have trouble going down the hills, even in 4x4 never up.

attached photo was two days before vid, same road.

Looks like the GFS is coming up with its latest 'Tuts take charts'. I've already braced myself for the downgrades and ordered a fresh supply of Xanax :-D

If we get another let down from that model, I think quite a few people on here will have started to wonder whether the GFS' recent upgrade was for the better?

  • Chilly with an increasing risk of frost

Once Monday's band of rain fades, the next few days will be drier. However, it will feel cool, even cold, in the breeze or under gloomy skies, with an increasing risk of frost. Read the full update here

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
