Daaaayum. This really is a kick in the teeth. The heavy burst of PPN I mentioned earlier has eventually reached here. And it's rain with a hint of sleet. I thought I might see wet snow briefly but no! Even the slight bit of height, all 96m of it, didn't even help.

Looking at the Nottingham webcams it seems some of you guys are doing quite well. Lots of snow on the m1!

Been snowing quite hard for the past hour in Nottingham

I live in the city centre and it has settled even here which is far more than I expected - it took ages to start to settle though

Think its the heavy precipitation, lower Dps and altitude helping N Mids.

Puzzled how some people further south have snow and I don't at 165m, if anything more rain than sleet

Not quite high enough and precip not heavy enough?

I think what you can see from the radar is that the bands pushing up from the SW are beginning to merge as the low starts to slide SSE. There is no chance of any lying snow here unless things become a bit more organised during the small hours. All the showers here have started off as Sleet and only turn to wet snow in the heavier bursts due to evaporative cooling so the thermometer is up and down like a yoyo. If only it were a degree or so colder...

Cant believe its exactly the places favoured on Boxing Day getting it again! Whats making it so much colder in Notts/Derbys, thought the warm air would have got there by now

might of but 200m asl does, it plus on the southern end of pennies.

Think its the heavy precipitation, lower Dps and altitude helping N Mids.

precisely still have temps of 0.4 and dps of -2
