I feel your pain, not a million miles away in N Worcs we have exactly the same. Steady drizzle, almost no hint of the earlier snow remaining. Mind you, the rain is so light now that even if it was snow, it would be barely worth the effort. Hopefully those further N/E will have a better time.

Unfortunately ,dewpoints will becoming increasingly positive during the coming hours and it looks as though the front bringing the precip will become weak . So for a lucky few especially on higher  ground a covering maybe, but no winterwonderland  from this one folks, cold rain for most...albeit not much :nonono:   :wallbash:

Trouble is it isn't cold enough. Snow has melted that I had

All a wet mess now.

But the colder air will be dragged in later, don't judge it as it is now :-)

Just drizzly rain here, did say earlier today that this was a non event away from the hills (in terms of accumulating snow) - why did people get excited? Should know better by now.

well yes, as there never was any real cold air, it was only a pants PM airstream, not cold at all really, just brought a bit of rain Sunday PM

we need a true cold airstream with a greeny high

lol It's actually quite funny, we should all be used to this by now

Heh, yes. This is pretty much a classic Midlands "snow" event, really. Quotes deliberate!

Wet snow here so not settling.

Such a shame we always seem to be just on the wrong side of marginal. Would be nice to see snow when it's below freezing with cold uppers atleast once in my life :p

Also noticed MetO now have upped the temperature for me by 1c for the entire course of the snow event, from 1c to 2c.

Met office have changed the forecast to rain or sleet all the way through now here...typical, how can they not have known that earlier

So is this a bust? Is it still going to snow a lot more? I haven't a clue to be honest! Was it really a bust to begin with though as lots of forecasts predicted not a lot.

All I know is that last Tuesday was a lot better so far!

It's game over for tonight apart from the lucky few on high ground.

Temperatures and Dewpoints rising all the time as the rain pushes in.

The weather predictions were all about 6 to 12 hours out.

The theory that colder air will move into the Midlands from the NW after midnight may be flawed, temperatures over NW England and NI are generally similar to those over the Midlands at present, just a hill event afraid :(

Yeah, having seen the evidence (especially that dewpoint map Anyweather posted) I think it's time for me to let this one go. I just wish the first MetO warning had come to pass -- I'd have taken that!
