If wind veers North easterly , this could be a cracking snow event , like others eluded too earlier the marginal ones are the best , and seeing as it upgraded from a dusting or sleety mess 24 hrs ago to maybe 15 cm or more on high ground who knows, and as it snows the snow drags the temp down !! Good luck too all

Way too light and patchy at the moment to amount to anything decent.

Just wondering if that front moving rapidly over Ireland is what the action is later and helping to pep any other precipitation up!?

switching between snow and rain here and therefore not settling, just getting everywhere very wet.

Now just light rain here in Bewdley. The thin covering on cars is disappearing. :(

Starting to get heavier again now now with bigger flakes. Not sticking much though at the moment. Will look again in half an hour or so.

Snow just starting here.

It does look like a developing band across our region with rain on it's south west edge where dew points are above 0c.

Low expectations here in Nottingham- though everything has changed so many times that it really is a case of looking at the radar in these situations! Regardless, it is all going to turn into a sleety damp mess during tomorrow morning so it will just be nice to see some snow falling as I was away for the boxing day snow!

Looking at the V6 paid radar, the back edge is all sleet or rain after the frontal snow.

Let's hope that is not it for the night.

Reports of rain just south if here aren't good news. Elevation didn't matter Boxing Day so this could be a concern again. Still, mustn't worry. Wait and see. Currently at Rowley Regis station anyway. Still snow falling here. Heading back up to Gornal in a bit.
