We have snow here too, not making much of an impact in terms of covering but it IS settling.

Metoffice Forecast here has changed to heavy snow at 9pm.

Maybe from that heavy 2nd band of rain that is near Glastonbury on the radar?

Shows how marginal it is around here - just rain in Evesham ....

After the snow event of March 2013 i installed a floodlight in the back garden  :)  I've waited this long for snow and it's BRILL..... really shows the slightest flakes :)

Are the new LED lamps any better than the old awful Orange ones for snow watching? No lampposts here so rely on a big 500w floodlight in the back garden. No Snow yet here..

Temp 0.8c

Dp -3.1c

I think that the new LED lights are better for filming...especially on a lower exposure setting

shame we havn`t got an exposure setting on our eyes :)

Which way are we looking for snow? The band from the North to pivot, the huge band from the West to move in later tonight or the stream of heavy precip snaking from the South?

It's from the south west

A sleet fest from the beeb and met office for me in Derby. I will wait and see what falls out of the sky as seems to be snow for most from the reports. Problem for me is Derby is only 50m asl.

Just got back in.

Snowing heavily at the moment and started 20 mins ago. Already have a covering on all surfaces.

This inspite of a high tempp of +1.1C. However dewpoint is a healthy -3.1C.

I thought it would start as sleet and be less intense than this.

Off to back-read the thread now to find out what to expect!!
