What a bizarre setup, SW winds and milder upper's coming in so easily tonight, 12z has temps/dewpoints around 2-3c all night so not looking good  :nonono:

Interesting to read the 'real' MetO forecast for the W Midlands (ie created by humans, not computer) as issued 15.36pm ....   I

This Evening and Tonight:

Cloud will continue to thicken through this evening with outbreaks of sleet and snow moving in from the southwest. The snow will lie readily on the cold surfaces leading to some accumulations by the morning, especially across higher ground. Minimum Temperature 0C.

Wednesday:

A cold and grey day across the region with further sporadic outbreaks of sleet and snow. The sleet and snow will gradually ease away later in the day. Maximum Temperature 4C.

There is no mention of rain whatsoever  :D

Notwithstand which, I still expect rain across the Vale of Evesham (which is, after all, on the very southern edge of the region)

Better news from here now: it's pepped up just a little and is now back to pure snow, with medium-sized flakes. Still only light, but just beginning to settle on grass and the colder/drier parts of the road.

Has anyone else noticed what's heading into Ireland at the minute? Might well help beef up those showers!

Luckier than we are! It started with light rain, grew sleety, then stopped. There's just a damp surface on the road and a few white granules sprinkled on paths and grass.

Really surprised at this based on your elevation.....maybe just the wrong time of day or wrong side of the Airmass perhaps....?

And now it's stopped here, too. Not really much left now; hoping that won't be tonight's sum total!

Possibly. Am waiting on the next blob on the radar heading our way. Hope that'll be a bit nicer.

Not hopeful of anything tonight with the mild upper's but keeping watch on Friday Night:

Potentially some snow showers through Cheshire Gap before Azores high topples in.

Not looking great for Nottingham, forecast keeps pushing it back timewise & just light snow. Best we can hope for I believe is a dusting unless it can beef itself up as it pushes north

Have a feeling that just past Sutton Coldfield and north, north east of this will receive the biggest accumulations.

Not much action on the MO thread. Just 1 post on the latest models, but 245 peeps signed in waiting to hear the words of wisdom.

Snow stopped here. Temporarily I hope.

Gfs 12z still doesnt go for much settling. Need temps to dip below 0 before any precip arrives. Hw does the 12z nmm and euro 4 look?

Few flakes falling here now.

Upgrades have been a bit of a turn up for the books today.

And the roads across Dudley seem awash with grit this time!
