Well decent forecast from carol, shows snow from about 9pm for Midlands, lingers through till tomorrow afternoon, she mentioned southern northern England, Wales and Midlands should see it settle and there is a chance of seeing 'disruptive' snow above 100m which she mentions is most of us.

So looks like we could be the right side of marginal but just need the ppn to be there, I'll be on later

I need to quickly raise my house about 65m then :D

Also

Local forecast at 08:30 now onboard, but not as bullish as Carol.

She did say keep tuned as things might change. (I assume she meant improve!)

I haven't had chance to watch any BBC forecasts. As I am inbetween Midlands/E Anglia what did they say for my region and the rest of E Midlands.

If anything I expect it to be the usual case of the PPN fizzling out over wales and west mids before it reaches here. Tends to happen on nearly all these kind of setups with ppn arriving from the west.

TEITS

According to the newly updated BBC country forecast at 08:30 -----

Snow for everyone. At lower levels it might not  be as heavy as further West. It even goes through East Anglia.

Basically everywhere North of London will be snow. They are still not sure about the intensity.

They are talking about the possibility of widespread disruptive snow. (presumably why they are holding off from Warnings).

Hi Dave.

I'm no longer in the east mids anymore.. I was thinking could this be a repeat of feb 09 when the decaying front stalked and intensified over Northants and North cambs?

Thanks for the replies but I just caught a glimpse of the forecast.

Very pleased although I shall refrain from getting excited until I see the radar later.

Feb 2009 what a snowfall, around 8 inches of snow in around 4hrs!!

BBC TV forecast looks very good for my area, with snow lingering all day tomorrow too.

Things seem to be moving at a fast pace this morning. Last night went to bed disheartened. Then looked at my met app this morning and seen huge upgrades. Also beep are now on to it all we need now is the holy grail of a warning. Love that word disruptive sends chills all down my body. Let it snowwwwwww.

I'm guessing the meto's UKV has modelled the ppn as snow rather than rain, hence the BBC forecast. I am quite confident in them being right at this time frame.

Question is do I take the risk of staying up late to watch the snow with the hope it's too bad to drive to work in the morning :p If I get it wrong i'm going to be REAL tired!

Exciting times folks, I think some beer and pizza will be in order for this evening. Screw the fact I have work tomorrow.  :D

They can put emergency warnings at any time though.
