My words

And I would urge caution, not only due to liquid equivalent ratio used, but also given it's simply one run :)

Plenty of water to go under the bridge before then but given current modelling of the stall zone at face value being towards the east of this region would not be a bad place to be at all

SK

Shush shush shush!

It will play out exactly as you said originally.. 10 to 15cm.

Hehe. But seriously, while i'd love you to be correct, i'd be surprised if you were (no offense). I'm not doubting your meteorological skills, but Leicesters snow shield is incredible.  :wallbash: I've seen unconfirmed statistics that it can fend up snow with intensities up to 20cm/hour...

The "into Leices/Notts" part must have been an error. We know that Leicester only ever gets more than 5cm of snow once every hundred years. The last time was December 2010. So the next decent snowfall in Leicester will be in approximately 95 years time  :p

Hahaha. Probably a more realistic outlook than the Met Office can come up with.

I think you'll find I bought the last set :)

So, I've now got a snow symbol for 9pm tonight (where did that pop up from?!), AND .... Wait for it ..... a double snow symbol for 6am Weds morning!

Off to take a screen print before it disappears!

All I have heard today is that tonight is going to be coldest night in two years. But when out walking the dog earlier (18.00 pm) it didn't feel cold at all. We have cloud cover at present but with no precipitation. At this rate we are unlikely to even get a frost let alone any of the white stuff :wallbash:  :( IMO it doesn't bode well for Tues / Weds, hope I am proven wrong though...  ;)

2-3! Is that it?!

This is turning into a near non event in parts of the midlands.

Other parts of the country are getting that in showers at the moment!

The snow seems desperate to avoid these parts of the midlands.

So frustrating.

cannot be too greedy, snow is a rare beast, 3cms is a decent amount here, classed as nothing say for 300m though

often snow falls and dosen't lie, which could happen, or just partial slushy covering, this will not be a snowfest like mar and jan '13

I honestly have no idea why people take note of these graphics like a god send - it is nowcasting no one has a magic wand. Please stop being pessimistic all it doesn't help - keep positive and see what happens.

We don't get 6 inch plus snowfalls every Winter more like 1 in 5 plus Winters for lowland Midlands, best not to have high expectations and be grateful for any snow you get :)

Considering that since Mar 2013 the only lying snow I've seen was about 0.5cm on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (that had mostly gone by lunchtime) I'd grab at an offer of 2-3cm with both hands. Anything above 5cm can be considered a major snow event in this neck of the woods! :p

Radar image was showing snow over me so did a bit of lamp post watching and it is snowing dandruff size flakes...prefer the cow pat variety but at this point after the 'will it, wont it' scenario as long as it's snow I'm happy 😃

Met Office have me down for a snow fest on Wednesday :S

The MetO algorithmic not-a-forecast has me down for rain on Weds, with not even a sleet symbol to be seen all week!

Early morning detour for me on my way to work then lol

Hmmm, don't go too mad with the plans - the screen shot might be the nearest we get to seeing heavy snow .... :/
