Yep,

Snowing heavily here and settling rapidly.

The flakes are twice the size of a 50P piece. Absolutely ginormous.

Temperature was 3.9C 20 minutes ago.

It is now 2.5C anf falling quickly.

Not forcast....

MIA

EDIT

Amazing 5mins of snow. Now stopped!!!

Temperature now dropped to 1.8C and still falling.

Snow settled rapidly on grass, but not on roads or roofs.

The rollercoaster is well and truly underway then! The 18z will probably upgrade it again.

Well, the stuff an hour or so ago was nothing but rain here. Not even a flake mixed in that I could see. Not that I was expecting it, so never mind.

Precipitation generally dying away now. So that's it for surprises today.

Wonder what it caused it to pep up like that in the first place?

Well that precip missed Leicester so no surprise there. 12z GFS also has snow missing midlands in general.

So overall everything is going as expected  :wallbash:  You have to laugh

Still plenty of time for things to change though. Hopefully pub run will be better!

I bet the pub run will be a snowfest for the midlands every run has huge changes even at 2 days away. Also UKMO is nice still all to play for. And today proves snow can fall at anytime.

Yes UKMO does look decent.

Also MetO have me down for light rain from 7pm to 9pm. Trying to figure out where that comes from, can't see anything due to hit us on the radar.

Oh dear charts are gradually swiping away the one chance of snow (Wednesday) here, positive *trends* for the longer term but this whole winter has been *trends* that end up as -2 upper's and 6c drizzle come +0hrs, much rather see Tuesday/Wednesday upgrade instead of hopecasting easterlies at +192hrs.

I agree. Always huge downgrades and then always in FI.

This week looking bang average, yet again!

Well after all that it's rain here, not even sleet :-(

Not heavy enough the heavy bit stayed to your west

MetO 5-dayer still has Ludlow down for light snow overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Keep the faith!

I still wouldn't discount anything happening in the week ahead.

We're getting to the point where it won't be until the event itself when we'll truly know what the details are.

I'm not worried about individual model runs taking things away from us...the overall trend is still pretty good.

Exciting week ahead I reckon!

It was always going to be difficult for the Midlands to get much in the way of snow this week purely due to altitude, still would nt rule a covering though in places at lower elevation.
