I suppose we will know more when the country file weather forecast is done for the week tomorrow. If I get to Wednesday and Ben Rich comes on the screen and says a few light sleet showers the TV will be going out the windfow.

I'd hope we'd get a real forecaster rather than one of the TV "personalities"!

Bananas weather. Temp all evening has been between -0.6c and +0.8C, I've seen ice on the grass and garden seat outside the backdoor, yet everything falling from the sky has been rain or sleet. Presumably the uppers and/or dew point is too high.

I'm from the NE, in laws live not far away from you in Standish. The weather is taking the jaffa cakes literally tonight. I need to understand why the ingredients are there yet it is rain. As member 500 or so of netweather and years of model watching I was expecting the showers to be on the wintery side. Bit snow starved here. I keep promising my five year old son some snow, but it's all dog biscuits.

I'm from the NE, in laws live not far away from you in Standish. The weather is taking the left trouser leg literally tonight. I need to understand why the ingredients are there yet it is rain. I keep promising my five year old son some snow, but it's all dog biscuits.

Some of the members in the north west are saying rain. ( Mersyside, Blackpool and southport areas. Even Preston is having rain whilst 5 miles away with a bit of altitude it's all snow. Oh and Runcorn is having rain lol just to upset backtrack.

Maybe if the winds veer North East or East then Northants will have its turn.

I cant see much disruption from the possible snow next week, Has been followed for what seems like an age in the model thread as though we are looking at a foot of snow, when i think for the majority will see the usual 2-5cms providing we get snow and not rain that is. Maybe due to the lack of snow last year maybe

I'd agree. Some of the GFS charts look impressive, but if you analyze it further, especially snow accumulation, places like Leicester don't look they are going to get much. Perhaps a few centimeters. It's still quite far out though so plenty of time for upgrades, we can only hope :)
