A thin snow cover here ( 0.5 cm ) after showers late yesterday evening.

All eyes on tonight and tomorrow to see just how windy it gets. I'll be surprised if it's stronger than last Friday and Saturday but there's always the possibility in a situation like  this.

What was your wind speeds that friday night, that knocked my internet out and other minor damage.

Just a sugar dusting of snow in Knowle. And yet we had plenty of 'direct hits' re the showery activity last night.

Still, something is better than nothing!

Good to have you back on here, Ian :)

0c dew -2c chilly breeze, just did marathon walk around town and back....proper winter weather... Snow cover still intact up here, doesnt look like it snowed in town.... Hope this weekend gives most people a good dumping, esp for snow starved.... Had really pretty snowbow earlier but couldnt take photo as had numerous places to be....

We ended up with about 3cm snow which froze well overnight, and stayed frozen throughout my dog walk until 10am this morning. Everything still white, but thaw defo set in now. Temperature risen to 2.8C.

Sky turned milky then clouds started rolling in, and the wind has come up a little. Looking windy tonight and even windier tomorrow evening according to MetO forecast.

Managed to get my >50% cover at 09.00GMT for the first time since March 2013! :) Still a patchy, very thin covering left, but nothing at all down in the town centre (~30m asl). As others have said, shows how much even a little bit of altitude can help.

Looking nippy across the region from next Monday

must be some sort of onshore wind, looks less cold for me, (miles off of course not mean anything) models do look good for possible snow next week

They're saying exactly the opposite on the MOD thread.....? (Not sure about Stafford exactly though)

Dudley Council never did bother clearing their roads. Driving through Dudley this morning was horrendous. However, the moment I crossed into Sandwell...the roads had been treated and were just wet. You could see the line of snowy road to wet road where Dudley ends and Sandwell begins!

Great 12z's runs so far tonight...so great...that there's just no chance of them coming anything like true! It would be too good to be true.

Not forgetting we may also see a few snowy showers Friday - Saturday and then there's a front modelled coming South Saturday into Sunday.
