Heavy snow shower from the SW just seems strange from that direction, now stopped.

There was a thin layer of snow on lower ground earlier, but that soon thawed.

Light sleet/wet snow here now, looks heavy to the west/north west.

Edit: In true Telford style died out just as it starts.

Showers heading this way but looking very marginal!

Been working over in West Brom today and have witnessed the same as everyone else. Rain with sleet and wet snow mixed in around lunchtime.

Forecasts seem to be going to plan so far for this area and looking at the radar...on and off wintry showers throughout the evening and night as predicted looks like happening. Don't expect much accumulation here but still good to see it panning out the way it is. I think those west and south of me are in for a better time though!

Good luck everyone!

I think the bulk of it was supposed to be south of the Midlands anyway with us getting a few showers? Don't think we'll go completely without though.

Could use a shift north like the last event that took it away from us!

Definitely! I've been pinning my hopes on it but at the moment the precip looks to be going exactly as planned as far back as 48 hours ago. Typical!

Indeed..Birmingham and the Black Country seem to be stuck in the middle this winter. Boxing Day snow went a little too far north and this one is progged (and is so far) to go a little too far south.  At least this time the forecasts and warnings show that we could miss out...so it's not so bad. Something will get to us eventually! Maybe even tonight...you never know with events like this!

We'll get the washout tomorrow night of course!

Edit: A bit of light sleet starting to fall now as we graze the northern edge of the precipitation.

Precip just clearing away from here now -- we had nothing but the occasional vaguely sleety bit in otherwise plain cold rain. Quite striking sky, though: very dark to the east; much clearer and brighter on the western horizon.

What few showers there are to our west are predictably being eaten by the Welsh mountains. Shame because the precipitation that just came through did change to all snow showing that it is now cold enough.

However, some hefty stuff heading out of Ireland towards South Wales. Really looking good for those south of Worcester for later I reckon. We will need pictures tomorrow morning please! :)

latest shower in Evesham started as a potent mix of icy sleet, leaving a sheen of ice on the grass, though turned to mostly rain later.  Bodes well for any further showers tonight though.

Seems like the showers are gonna run across South Midlands only with them dying to nothingness this far north  :nonono:

Noticeable that the same strength showers are fizzling into drizzle as soon as reach Shropshire whilst further south running across counties with ease.

Problem being Stratford is so low down, unfortunately temps holding up and keeping the showers sleety here this evening.
