Could it have been power lines going down?  The wet snow is really accumulating on telegraph wires & tree branches

Weve had trees down local and power outs  but this look very much like it was the entire sky flashing only once tho so could be power lines.... weve had the snow sliding down off the roof.....made such a loud noise..

I have heard some big branches snap in the Valley tonight so could very well be power lines.

Moderate snow again now , wind really whipping up , just measured 2.5 cm , not bad seeing we had 3?/3.5 hours of sleet and rain earlier

East of Melton is... Nothing. So one would imagine it's unlikely to be anything other than lightning?

Big Snow,

If we batter you in the snowball fight, will you opt for devolution in an effort to send the marauding attackers back home?

Blue lightening is normally produced by powerlines going down.

It must be getting quite bad up there now.

Hi guys  :smiliz19:  Visting duties today so haven't been able to pop in to what's going on out and about around the Midlands!

Anyway it's been great today to see some of the white stuff, but that was it, it was looking good at one stage but then turn light and then back to rain :smiliz46:

in reading some of the several pages many on here have done very well, fair play and great photo's...... :smiliz64:  i think for us here in Solihull that's it, just very icy come the morning.

Not going to have a whinge about the fact i just have slight covering on the tops of the cars and that everywhere is just wet down here..... It's just so nice to see it SNOW AT LAST :yahoo:

fantastic night, been out for 1.5hours, managed to walk up to Cavendish Park 300m plus, wow its bad up there, blizzard light at times serious wind chill, and like TM said 18 to 20cms.

you know its good when kerbs disappear. most of cars just look like snowballs, down here in Matlock more like 8 to 10cms.
