Sadly, we are running out of precipitation now.

If you look at the radar, the top half of the front is starting to pivot, and once it gets to a certain point it should move due south back over us.  It's a gamble, but this is still 1000X better than last year (for snow I mean :-D)

Has been rather a boring winter so far, last winter we at least interesting watching all those storms move in every other day.

Well, still two months left of winter and even 3 if you class march :-)

I hope you're right...I really do, but I can't see a sudden shift south even as it pivots. We are running out of time.

It has been a lot better than anything last winter and the next few days should give us some clear, beautiful and frosty weather. Best enjoy it as the models are pointing at the Atlantic coming back for the New Year but that's too far away to worry about right now!

There is some back-building going on in the Irish sea near Blackpool, maybe it will prolong the 'event'?

I really hope we have at least one day where I can go for a walk in the snow without that dreaded 'drip, drip'.

Raining here now for the last couple of hours, but Met Office site still showing it turning back to snow between 11pm & 5am tomorrow morning. (As does the BBC site, which was last updated after 8pm).

Still a little bit hopeful......

WOW - MASSIVE FLAKES FALLING AT THE MOMENT, COVERING IMMEDIATELY. Barely a breath of wind! Almost peaceful.

yeah very heavy, but windyish here, shame about less cold day tomorrow, or our snow would still be here until new years day
