The system is further north than projected, it will probably get colder for a bit then milder then colder again.

Northern parts of the Midlands should be just on the right side of marginal.

Its snowin here and around brum area and we are not north midlands the track is bang on but it has come quicker than expected

Isn't the system supposed to be slowly edging southeast as well though? So the northerly element shouldn't be too much of an issue for us should it?

I dont think the system is further north at all!! Just compared the current surface pressure to the one euro4 projected at 3pm and its pretty much identical! !

Yes if you look at say xcweather.co.uk then it looks more on track, can't see it going further north.

Raining here, temp 1.9oC, d.p. 0.7oC. No sign of sleetiness.

Edit: I tell a lie... it's beginning to sleet!

Yes it does which is why it's working in your favour to have the front further north.

Perhaps the LP is going as planned but the ppn is definitely further north.

Hold on!

then again most years it has started as rain here and turned to snow and even settled after the ground was soaked,  then again it isn't cold enough and I just fear this is going to be one of those marginal events we get so often in this country.  I could be wrong and I hope I am but im just a little bit more less gullible than I used to be when it comes to snow in this country.

Remember that the precip will pivot around the low, giving a stalling impression over the Midlands.

Still 100% cold rain here. Although I expect it to suddenly change at some point. Just wish the lampposts would hurry up and switch on!

Starting to settle on cars. That's always the start if we're going to have it laying!
