Getting a few bursts of all snow now....before turning back to sleet. Love these situations.

I'm staying with family here in Knypersley at 215m on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Rain at the moment but I'm hoping to see a transition to snow very soon...

Happy Boxing Day everybody!

Sleety rain here, but increasing amounts of sleet as time goes on. Sleet content peps up when precip rate increases.

There we go, snowing properly here now. Next question is when/if will it start settling?

I think if it's changed over up here already...than lower levels are going to get in on this too very soon.

The system is further north than projected, it will probably get colder for a bit then milder then colder again.

Northern parts of the Midlands should be just on the right side of marginal.

Could the better Northerly extent of this band than modelled mean a better wrap around later tonight and more to play with per se?

I dont think the system is further north at all!! Just compared the current surface pressure to the one euro4 projected at 3pm and its pretty much identical! !
