Yes it is a lovely morning bright sun shine reflecting of the frost, +1.4C. May not have snow but this is the next best thing in my view!

The most beautiful winters morning, took the dog out, walking

Over the frozen snow covered fields, so crisp under foot

So when's the next event happening?

I heard some people on the model thread says it will be next weekend. I don't know whether it verifies or not. Just have to be patient.

I'm gonna take a wild guess/prediction when the next cold spell will take place, I think it will come not next weekend, not weekend after that, it will come by the following weekend. Hopefully I'm wrong about it.

interesting damian, although even in march 2013 i didn't get any lying snowfall, the southern fells created a shadow effect over an area from sellafield to about workington and we just had very light snow all day which didn't lay, i think i last got lying snow in jan 2013, i'll have a look through old threads.

Buxton that is further south is far better for snow than the Lake District. People should visit the Peak District in winter if they want snow

Perfect dog walking weather this morning, the rain & mud, replaced with frosty frozen surfaces. Still patches of snow in the fields. Going to be even colder tonight.

Glossop in the snow.... Suprised that up where i am 7-10cm, glossop town centre hardly anything more than dusting, higher up thick snow 4-8inches...some places looked like a film crew had spray painted the landscape...

The frost is all melted here apart from the shades.

Todays weather reminds me of 2010, blue skies, frosty, no wind but not quite as cold though.

Seen this on twitter, snow cover this morning. shows that it was so near yet so far for me, and many of us.
