Looking at the radar seems like the streamers have started. Some seem very intense, hope they don't bring rain for any of you and hope they make it far enough inland to us, they usually do then die off once they get on the east side of the Pennines.

Nice wintery look to the day.

2 inches of snow on the ground and the trees covered.

You don't have to travel much lower down the valley though before you arrive at "what snow, we haven't got any" as I found when I took my daughter to work at silly o clock.

Hopefully today will be a good chance to get out and take some pictures of that rarest of beasts, snow in the North West of England and if the showers get going, maybe even some falling snow.

Temperature currently -1c.

2.3 here and raining also. Snow all but gone - a little left on the car. Temps look to be too high for us today to get any more snow falling I fear.

Still clear and dry here although some cloud out to my west.

Temperature still falling very slowly, currently at -1.4c, probably helped by the bit of snow cover.

It looks like the showers are going to stay too far out west to reach here.

This may change but currently too much of a NW alignment for ourselves to benefit and the radar is showing little inland penetration across Scotland, something which we usually need to benefit here from this set up.

Good luck to those in the firing line in that what you get is white and not just wet.

Its only 3C top temp today according to my BBC weather app. :)

if the showers heavier enough here, I may see a decent covering in places.

Quite a few showers rolling in off the Irish sea, some quite heavy, of course, rain only. Currently 4.4c

Temperature is now showing 0.9c although no signs of thawing from the trees, car etc and dew point -0.6c.

Some cloud rolling in from the west but no signs of anything coming from it and not a breath of wind.

All in all a lovely winters day and a set up which is a long time overdue.

Had a couple of very light rain showers here, warm Irish Sea causing quite a few showers popping up for the South of the region, but at the same time, having a warming effect. Heavier showers, fingers crossed, will be wintry, but all is wet and a slow thaw going on, so nothing of any significance will settle here. Will be interesting when the sun goes down and all this freezes though!
