Quite a hefty shower just gone through started hail, then grauple, then snow.  Hills opposite have a dusting of white.  Hopefully more to come.

Snow showers mostly affecting higher ground at present... Cumbrian Fells, Pennines but a sleety/hail mixture still falling in other areas too...fingers crossed the Irish Sea generator continues overnight!

Had a couple light hail and sleet showers here but the showers look like they're slowly pepping up.

Some light snow here, can tell the uppers are a bit colder than the last similar polar maritime shot. 2.6C and all snow (thought not sticking of course)

The 12z gfs precipitation type forecast has downgraded the wintryness for tonight.

If it didn't snow tonight there is another potential on Tuesday.

The problem i see for Tuesday is that the wind will have (according to current projections) a slight southwesterly element which often means that the southern half of the region stays dry due to the Welsh mountains. Great for Cumbria and down to Blackpool coast though.
