Still really windy here with a coolness in the air, its about 8 degrees now,was about 12 when i went to bed last night. Plenty of clouds rolling in now, no sunshine at all.

Send your cloud this way please, sunny here at present but cold so might as well have cloud and a chance of snow.

Its typical really, the bloody housing are replacing all the windows on all the houses around here, was supposed to be around september last year and all the windows have bust here, so its freezing and a wheelchair access door in front room is also glass and knackered, theyve messed us about for months, as i have to make plans to stop at parents with our son as he has special needs and obviously cant be here when they take all the windows out. When do they decide to start windows, yes this week and next, the most stormiest and coldest!! Gits! Theyve already started on row of flats next door, so we are next! Be a bit like the wizard of oz if not careful, dorothy in her house as it blows off and things flying out the window! ;)

Showers inbound from the Irish Sea look to be heading slightly south of myself but I'd imagine that Greater Manchester should get something from them.

Maybe still the wrong side of marginal for snow at low levels but the Pennines south of me and Peak District may get something, if only brief.

I'll be patient and wait my turn.

Temperature still falling, now 4.5c. With dew point of 1.4.

Just down the valley from me.

About 250 feet lower and usually 1c warmer than Bacup but all routes into the Rossendale Valley from the north and west involve substantial elevation so a good chance of seeing snow if the showers are around as you arrive.

One or two brief hail showers this morning, big clouds billowing and moving through quickly on a very gusty wind. Humidity yesterday was 95%, currently 77% indicative of a change in airstream to something less 'tropical' and saturated.

 

Temperatures are steadily dropping - currently 5.5 degrees but I'm expecting them to drop a couple of degrees through the day and more so under any showers.

It's gone really dark, the winds got up again and...........yes it's snowing.

Might not be much but at least I only had to wait until 10th January this year not until Devember like 2014.

Suns out here

Snow didn't last long here and the suns out again now but at least I know that the conditions are right, just need the precipitation and I feel that this will arrive later in the day.

Maybe not everyone will benefit and I might not get an invite to the snow party myself but good luck everyone and I hope you enjoy anything you get.

Watch it it will snow dor the first time in 12 months but the blasted wind will blow it all away! Lol the wind is getting much worse here. Dont think weve had a further temperature drop yet.
