Nina on bbc24 latest forecast showed fewer wintry showers for tomorrow than the earliest forecast. She said mainly of rain.

Very light snow here, not making any impact.

What I find VERY VERY interesting, is that the Met Office computer which has just updated, goes for heavy PPN AGAIN for 2300hrs, 0000hrs and 1am, 3 more hours of heavy snow, now where's that gonna come from?

They MUST be expecting this front to backbuild or something, the GFS(P) also suggests PPN becoming heavy again around 9pm.

Such a bitter sweet here snowing heavy but just refusing to stick.

And backtrack I am from Runcorn lived there for 20 years can't remember ever seeing thick snow.

Moved to east manc 6 years ago thinking "yes better elevation further east, I'll get more snow"

Never does here and now Runcorn always bloody gets it. JEALOUS!

Hahaha! We haven't had any snow for two years mate, this is the first time in a good while we've had it. Not much on the radar but massive flakes falling again, with heavy snow. 0.4C.

Wind increasing here and starting to blow the snow about.

Although not snowing as hard, it's begining to remind me of March 2013 and, although I doubt that the end result will be anywhere near as severe, it's still nice to see.

Temperature still refusing to drop below freezing though.

Belting down here and sticking, we are going to run out of precipitation in a couple of hours time so I cant see a big dumping.

I took the dog our across the field just now and walking straight into that wind and it is very reminiscent of the beginning of March 2013 where all the snow blew off my field and into my garden which is lower and produced 6ft snow drifts.  As much as I love the snow I could do without it being that bad tomorrow or there will be an awful lot of food to eat if husbands rellies don't make it over from Hull for the family feast!

It's times like this i really wish I lived over 300m asl.

Question 1

Will there be a good covering on Winter Hill?

Question 2

Is it worth getting my 4 yr old dressed up, sledge out of the shed, track up there only to find 2inch of slush?

Anyone who can see it tomoz morning stick a pic on here.

Amazing pip again, less than 5 miles down the road you are getting snow and we have nothing but persistent rain here, not a solitary flake ........

Did I ever mentioned snow sticking here? No. If it did stick I would've mentioned it by now. It is not pure snow, its just wet snow here tbh. But still it is better than plain old rain. :)

its a killer isnt it, happens a lot so I should be used to it, but every year its surprises me just how snow free Preston is, and as you how small a geograaphical area misses out.
