Funny enough, it was only yesterday when I was browsing the 18Z thinking that the PPN would not turn to snow until around 21:00 at the earliest, it started at around 5pm ish instead! If this sticks around until midnight, the 10-15cm the Met Office say is a possibility will come off!

Ill have to disagree there, lived in liverpool until I was 18 and Preston for the last 16 years ish.....both are not great, but Id be pretty confident in saying Liverpool gets moe snow than here.

Look at the GFS, the uppers at the minute are no lower than about -2C, warmer in some areas, frontal snow really is amazing, so much better than showers.

I like frontal snow but when its crossing from East to West!!!!      Easterlies are still the best, these slushfests don't really float my boat, I want the big one now.

Ouch. And to think Liverpool is accumulating the white stuff.

Yes, its all down to intensity though.

tbh im at least 200 miles too north but tomorrow looks a half decent chance of seeing an hour of sleety rain tomorrow so its all good.

So you wouldn't take a trough or low pressure development in the Irish Sea? :p

I bet if I went to the pub I would see snow though, only a 2 mile walk but its nearly double my altitude. the mountains will be getting a pasting.
