I haven't a foggiest if it will come off, but reading around from storm reports. It sounds like the snow is being forecast but just being sleety stuff instead sadly.

There is a weather warning on met office but it doesn't cover the whole region.

I live southeast Manchester and the warning if you look only covers the north of greater Manchester so it's not looking good for me from a met office forecast point of view.

Ps snow lover yeah it's the new gfs :)

Cheers mate. Hopefully there will be an upgraded Warning from the Met Office in the morning. I'm confident we'll see some snow tomorrow night, we're due some luck after last seasons abysmal Winter.

I believe Blackpool tower got struck by lightening around 3:30pm, I have no proof, but was in town at the time and saw a huge flash of lightning, and have heard many reports that the tower got struck!

A rumble of thunder earlier this evening in a heavy shower! other than just rain and hail, no proper wintryness in any of the shower today I don't think.

Interesting, that's colder than most of the models are going for, most only just managing -5 for most in the region.

Not sure if I am imagining it but the wind/gusts seems stronger this morning than last night, it's making more of a noise, more rattles and bangs outside

The BBC just have me just rain overnight tonight. If that is a case there is really no chance to snow here. I'm not disappointed, I'm actaully quite expected it.

I too got woke up by strong wind and hail around 5ish. Its just started again now.

Even if we don't get any snow this week, I'm still impressed by all this hail.

I've never known it hail so much and still find that exciting, cos let's face it any things better than rain!

I think I remembered a night when the showers merged together and it hailed nonstop good couple of hours of night and the street was under thick cover of hail. I think its at the end of 2002, not sure.

I was kind've hoped this setup will happen again.

Just puddles here LOL

Weather warning still out for tonight, however Manchester northwards is my gut feeling for tonight, with us perhaps seeing

some back end stuff, which will do nothing with the ground been

so saturated

Anybody any idea when these winds are going to calm down? Off to bolton at 1.30pm then returning sometime after teatime.
