Not been a bad day, certainly an improvement on the last week or so.

All we need now is the forecast arrival of cooler air and it should feel more seasonal.

Even chances of a bit of snow showing up, although the risk isn't particularly high and we are looking at FI but certainly things are looking better than this time last year.

Its been frosty around here this morning and cloudy all day. It is a first frost of the season here. This morning I thought I gonna see the first snowflake of the season.

A nice clear start but it didn't take long to turn into another damp cloudy and raw day.

Hopefully some sunny weather and more seasonal temperatures for later in the week.

All action seems to be coming from the North West at the end of week into next, and although it will probably be 'cold rain' for the majority, it will feel decidedly brazen in the winds.  Change happens on Friday with a brief northerly but I expect wishbone effect will come into play and affect coastal fringes with anything near wintriness.  Very nasty storm currently showing for early next week but probably overcooked on the models at this stage.  Worth keeping an eye on though.

Beautiful early winters day with wall to wall sunshine. First time I've noticed the frost last in the shade, should be a hard one tonight. Just need snow on the fells now!

Yes agree, its been a slow start to the winter season on the fells, nothing too alarming but normally by now we should have had at least one decent fall down to about 600m at least. Hopefully, by the start of next week, such an event will have occurred, and with the prospect of further polar maritime airstreams, any active fronts will easily deposit snow down to quite modest levels, thanks to the power of evaporative cooling, which always catches forecasts out around here..
