It is a bit quiet in here. I usualy try and post things but it would be nice to have more chat :)

Dissapointing so far today, im at Crosspool in Sheffield and i can see accross the valley to the left and the showers just disolved as soon as they crossed the pennines. Shame!

Nice and cold though, max was 3C up here today and itl drop tonight. The wind is very gusty.

Well have to see if anything comes in tonight to give a covering.....

Wondering what the chances of snow tonight at lower levels are, I am 120m and I'm being forecast sleet/snow from 2am to 10am according to BBC weather.

its still just rain now, even up here. little bit of sleet in it perhaps, but its hard to tell under the lights. You can see on the netweather radar its still only just sleet (green) on the pennines so not sure whats going wrong. The cold air is in place now.

Just have to hope the night time conditions keep evolving.

Too warm at the moment 3.8C and a dew point of 1.2C needs a shower to make it across properly and knock the temps down.

Thanks PIT

I keep twitching the curtains lol, definately bits and peices of sleet in it at times now, heres hoping the night time cooling and continuing showers knock it down a bit.

The snow is showing up in north yorkshire now so its not far away, as thats where the cold air is coming from i assume it will continue to feed in and cool down throughout the night?

I have just poppped out for a drive parked up at Ringinglow there is a covering at the top of Ringinglow Road with the road covered in places at the top.

Only slushy deposits on cars in ringinglow village at present Snowline i would hazard a guess at 350m+

Well Saturday morning I recorded the equal lowest minima of the whole of last winter (-3.6c) and thats after 6 days of winter so not a bad start, showers starting to pack in from the Irish sea now so I reckon anywhere west of the A1 above 200m has a chance of settling snow overnight. Looks like repeat perfomance later in the weak albeit slightly higher uppers. Glad that winter is here  :cold:

Well last winter five air frosts altogether. One already in the bag should get a few this weekend.

yeah very unpredictable that's why it's so interesting and exciting! I don't think here in hull we will get anything untill we get a good easterly or northeasterly as that's usually the only time we see decent snow.

Since when did you live in London? :nea:

Lived here for 1 1/2 years now lol.

Now that I live here I've lost alot of interest in weather, maybe cos nothing ever happensn it's always mild.

There was more variation when I lived in Leeds.
