Was hoping the band from Cumbria would develop a bit more....probably will do after it's passed me!

Yes, just had a heavy shower for about 5 minutes, now clear blue sky.  Looks like the radar has heavy snow band right over Pateley Bridge but it shoots passed in about 15 minutes :-(

There's almost twice as much here. The deepest depths must be quite localised because I'm sure as I was walking home from work there were areas that were at least 10cm.

Yeah looking at Steves pics and reports on Facebook the depth is very different in some places. Very localised

Still, i cant complain, what a great winter this is turning out to be!

Just outside halifax there seems to be 4-5cm whilst about 2 miles away from there, at home there is only a slight covering now.

The 'little low' is just starting to come into the MetO rainfall radar range and the 'wrap around' of clouds looks to have a lot of snow on it? Could it be forming that rare beastie the 'Polar Low'?

Something to keep an eye on for sure G-W, it certainly looks more defined than a simple trough that's for sure

Hi Snowplease! Well as PTFD said it was just forecast as a trough but it is a defined, small scaled low? It may well be drifting into the direction of the irish sea over tonight ( if it lasts?) but would mean a lot of snow ( and blizzard conditions) for the areas it passes over? Worth radar watching once the closed circulation is in view?

EDIT: Yes PTFD!

Just snow here! This is the isolated band of showers but there looks to be a lot more upwind into the western isles ( for after dark) and maybe even a shot at that 'low' by midnight?

Hammered it down with snow from that band...but guess who had the shortest width of the band?! Me!!

Leeds will do well...if it's snow and not sleet....
