Bone dry here all day since the rain early this morning. Ill eat my hat if those showers reach here from the west overnight as the BBC forecast suggests.

What's your thoughts on our chances tonight? Radar shows showers heading in our direction but they disappear or end up south of the humber!!!

A coating of icing sugar (graupel?) everywhere now after that heavy shower.

The two bands of snow that passed over Leeds and Sheffield have now merged!

Watch out Sc#nthorpe!

Just back home after busy day and evening out drinks / dinner.

Heavy graupal shower now turned in to very heavy snow. Covered up all patches.

No radar look for a few hours so let the continental brews open and we're off. ;-)

Radar looks promising for S and W Yorkshire a good streamer setting up between Sheff and Leeds with the looks of things

Very light dusting here, about 90 mins ago, since then nothing but hail or rain. Feels too mild outside.

Chances arent great for us this far east. After travelling across the Pennines the showers are weakened before The Wolds kill them off good and proper.

Theres the chance of the odd rogue one making it over but the best chance for us is the northerly at the weekend.

The temps are stuggling a bit, crazy how its not getting colder. Were supposed to be in very cold 850s and the snow should cool the air. Just looked at PITS temps and its up to 1.8c now in Sheffield! :cc_confused:

Yes mate you should do really well out of the Northerly over there which will be a really nice change for your lot :-)

Big flash and bang almost overhead!

Sleeting now. Just too warm at the minute at my altitude.

My temperature has now dropped to 0.7c from 1.8c following that heavy shower but it remains to be seen whether it rises again now it has passed through.

Seems to have veered more westerly so mebe slightly more modified air which hopefully will change once it veers more northerly later in the night
