It does vizzy, not much to get excited about with current output, but this would be a nice distraction. Im sure we'll all be keeping a close eye on it. Tonights ECM shows us under -4 uppers so as its slack, then perhaps enough with evap cooling, but as its T72 still a long way to go!

Hmmmm might track further south or keep with the current trend and push north.

Eagerly awaiting tomorrows output

Depends though, cuz surely south is a good thing, its the northern flank that is snow. Like on boxing day the radar showed that it extended well past Yorshire, almost into Scotland, so ended up quite far north.

BBC weather showing snow to rain for Sheffield, so maybe they think it wont be so far south, and comes across north east. Still time for upgrages though :)

we need a track exactly the same as a week ago lol!

Too far south and we miss the heavier precip which brings the snow level down, for example York had plenty of rain on boxing day but because it was never heavy, it didnt get snow whereas low lying areas 40 miles south got snow in the heavier precip. Also I would ask the low to be 30 miles further North this time but purely an IMBY post (you would still get snow) :p. The trend on the models seems to be moving it south however BBC seem to think rain/hill snow will move through all areas of our region on Saturday.

"Saturday frosty start, then cloud and rain preceded temporarily by hill snow, will spread northeastwards. Cold. Sunday cloud patchy rain clearing, then brighter. Monday frosty start, becoming milder and cloudier."

Even more depressing, i just looked at the Cairngorm Ski centre site and there's no snow cover, it's raining and 2degC...and that's in Scotland at 2500ft asl...!!!

Its a shame tomorrows snow downgraded to nothing, was hoping for a repeat. Just remembering this time last week it was a brilliant blizzard outside :) Nice memories huh!!

Uppers tomorrow are -3 so not quite enough im afraid:

No chance for me however just cos the uppers are not below -5 does not trigger if it will snow or not under an slack flow you do not need astonishingly cold uppers, I think those with elevation 200m+ such as yourself will do well, covering? Maybe transient leading edge snow for low levels, this was mentioned in the forecast earlier on it may have changed by now. But yes the above chart I wouldn't rule anything out, for you especially.

Throughout the day on Saturday, precipitation begins to wind down, with rain and snow ending across England and Wales by the evening. When the storm is said and done, cities such as Leeds and Sheffield could have several inches of snow.

I urge you not to get overly excited - I'm not totally sure how credible they're. :)

Some sleet and wet snow this morning on the Dronfield bypass sadly too light to do the full honours though.

Heavy rain here with the odd sleety flake here and there. Not surprised in the slightest really and don't expect anything better for here.

Nicely surprised today with a good frost that remained in our north facing garden all day, bird baths frozen solid, temp struggled to 1degC at 2pm...

Yes been a lovely day, had a minimum of -3.6c this morning but the Vale of York was much colder with -4/5c in many places. Was working around Selby area this morning and roads were very icy, even some of the main routes had ice as they didn't look like they had been gritted. Then spent the afternoon mountain biking in Dalby Forest where temps remained below freezing for much of the day, and also a nice hoar frost where freezing fog had settled in the valleys.

Just one forecast Wednesday morning and then maybe some more by next weekend. Although I've seen plenty of frost now, seen 3 snowfall events but had to chase all of them so hoping for some IMBY soon...
