Well, that was an exciting 20 minutes, giving a covering as you can see on main roads close to the City centre at about 60m asl. Wouldn't mind a few more showers...

looks like the update on the NMM chart was correct. All the showers ended up confined to Cumbria area. Plenty more snow on offer in the next 6 days :)

Don't you hate that feeling when you open the curtains for the first time in the morning to see that it hasn't snowed a jot since you went to bed?

I share the disappointment of the E Yorks folks.

No show of the snow here so far in this spell.

I really thought we would get some overnight.

Bit of a bust here too with only a slushy covering and quite icy underfoot.

However, looking at the forecast and the radar, it would appear that all of those showers up towards Cumbria and the West coast of Scotland will gradually sink Southwards across our region throughout the day so fingers crossed it goes to plan!

Edit...The other half reports that snow is now settling on the M1 near Wakefield.

Morning all

500th post :D

And its a great snowy picture here again. Seem to have done well. A few inches on the ground. You can just make out the foot prints in the bottom right :cold:

More to come this morning looking at radar!

Some lovely cloud formations this morning associated with showers in the distance.

Main Roads are still treacherous, while side roads are virtually untouched near the City.
