VERY encouraged this morning! Woke up to a nice covering of snow, its still slushy on the ground now up here, so its nice and cold. Lovely to see.

Maybe we'll get something tonight/tomorrow morning after all....

Rain shower has just this minute turned to snow.

GFS says we are golden for rain to snow tonight.

A dusting of snow above the Lion Inn on the North York Moors when I travelled over this lunchtime. It was snowing quite heavily at the time but I don't know how long it lasted.

Even if you are in the yellow zone on the MetO warnings I think you will need to be 200m plus to see anything decent, could be higher/lower... we shall see.

Skeptical here in Leeds but the ground has dried quickly consistent with negative dew points and the sky is now clear. The real question is whether cloud pushes the temperature up.

Fingers crossed we will see some of the White stuff in Morley I would be surprised not to see at least a dusting.

I just can't see anything anywhere below 2/300m tonight. Uppers of around -2 / -3

Just aren't conductive to low lying snow from a zonal westerly/north westerly set-up. I think 1000ft+ might see 5cm or so and below that perhaps a dusting or a some small slushy deposits. Hope I'm wrong though ovcourse ;)

Guys, please, would you stop using logic, you'll ruin everyone's fun. ;)

agreed ha ha :clapping: You will all be choking on that logic later when I tell you Skeggy is under 2 foot of snow with hurricane force winds blowing through (I can but wish. Will be the normal 'bracing' wet night we get most nights at this time of year)

Alternating between sleet and rain here.

Temp 2.c was 3.c earlier.

Interesting setup tonight then! 250ft of elevation here, with 500ft 2 minutes down the road... may be worth the trip.

Looks liek we are too far south but not by much. Whether evaportive cooling will help us is another question. Tomorrow morning seems the best bet for Snow as cold air digs in. However the rain may move away to quickly so odds way more in a complete miss for Sheffield away from the peak district.
