At least it's sunny today. New Year was awful and yesterday disgustingly mild but today is much more like it. It feels cold in that brisk wind despite it being 7C.

Didn't get the rain they were bleating about on the forecast, just a few mm's of drizzle.

12.6°C during the early hours. Currently 9.3°C with sunny spells.

12.5mm in West Wiltshire, this time last year we were about to embark on a night that would take the total to 51mm by 07.00 on the 3rd!

Hi snowdog here you go --> Rings around the Moon are caused when moonlight passes through thin clouds of ice crystals high in Earth's atmosphere. As moonlight passes through the ice crystals, it is bent in a way similar to light passing through a lens. The shape of the ice crystals causes the moonlight to be focused into a ring. This is similar to the way water droplets in the lower atmosphere can bend sunlight to create a rainbow.

Its a soggy Sandown here, but least it is mild and my Tarantulas love the humidity change :)

Awful stuff .... Just hope the mighty greens are not the same as the weather.

Have a safe trip my friend and hope it's a good win

You've seriously got Tarantulas?  What fun, I'd often thought about getting one or two in the past, but thought it might be a tad difficult to find someone to look after them when I'm away!

Much breezier here now with the beginning of the clearance from the west.  11.4mm to 09.00 and temp now at 12.8°C

13.8mm of rain overnight, now rather windy from the west and a very mild 13.6c with a few bits of brightness.

Just before midnight on the 1st it was 13.2c, over 18c warmer than at the same time on the 29th and 30th December.

Interesting weather pattern, one day sun, one day rain, one day sun........

Ridge, Depression, milder then cooler, rinse and repeat until mid-January at least methinks. And I'm usually ever the optimistic when it comes to wintry synoptics, less rain down Sarf though, Thanks in part to the Euro High.
