Some snow showers hugging the SE Ipswich coast- will probably align towards Northern Kent - usual spots Whitstable ETC

S

Been keeping on an eye on those Steve, was out and about earlier and noticed some convective cloud building east of here. Looks like it's firing up a little...hoping to see them shift 15 miles west!

@EssexWeather Talking of snow, a couple of heavy showers clipping the NE corner of Essex over the next few hours. Clacton, Harwich may see a few flakes.

Not the best with looking at the radar maps and the other stuff, but seems to me that everything is happening both sides of me!

You never know it could both come together and I'll get everything that's happening either side of me, all in one..

In the same boat here, 15 miles north of you, so frustrating!

As usual nothing in the Chilterns, something about the lay of the land makes rain/snow clouds split to either side of us...sooo frustrating!  All week the seven day forecast predicted a day of very heavy rain turning to sleet. Now it says it will be dry for the foreseeable future....yes....I am in a childish sulk :nonono:

Sad. Doubt there is going to be any snow for me tonight. :(

Looking at radar (never really looked at these before), if I'm looking at it correctly there could be some sleet/snow coming towards Gillingham area?

Just had our first flakes of snow of the winter ( mixed in wth sleet and hail} was heavy enough for the top of my car to go white briefly .. temp her around 3c , so it wont be hanging around...hopefully  January will be more fruitful and some of us will have pics like they have had further up north..

Just catching up. Light/moderate snow showers earlier in Dunstable when out for a run. Having not seen a single flake last winter it made me feel good to be alive and put an extra spring in my step !

Liked the look of the ECM12z - some encouraging signs regarding pressure patterns over the artic. A long way to go but the potential for severe cold in our part of the world second/third week of January is very much alive.

PPN shown hanging around to the extreme South East maybe a period of snow

Colder uppers filtering in I can see some snow for Kent -7C 850s should allow snow to very low levels
