not cold

but this is why

141129_1200_42.png

monday

PPVI89.gif?31415

a weaker flow from the east-north east

rainfall should be none but again east coastal may get cloudy drizzly much through the day

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

monday night

PPVJ89.gif?31415

an east - north east flow but not strong

rainfall

141129_1200_66.png

again looks dry but the front close by to the east coast may let some drizzle get to the coasts

watch for mist and fog

temps

63-583.GIF?29-12

cooler tonight and a frost looks possible

141129_1200_66.png

Went into the big smoke today.

Was a lovely day, walked around in a tee shirt. Went to winter wonder land, skating, and the rink was like skating in the shallow end of a swimming pool. Great fun, but manic.

Cheers JP great to view your nightly updates once more.(Horray).fog is starting to form here already with lots of dew around.frustrating to have an easterly but from a mild source . Hoping for snow this year as have a 2 and half year old girl that has seen me making snowmen with my father on video from 2010 and wants snow to play with. Bless her

Well it was foggy here but it suddenly upped sticks and was gone.

Local fox was about a short while ago, too nervous to stay and chat though.

Haha, yeah I have two dogs they are cross breed but I dont know what breeds they are but they look like German Pointers but are smaller, one of my dogs dropped the toy in front of me and I bent down to get it and one of them tagged me in the face as I was picking it up, they just get so excited, they do this weird play fight where they get on their hind legs like bears. No I didn't go to A&E, my nose is still straight so I rang my sister and she checked me over (shes a nurse) and it didn't look that bad. The last time I was living in Southampton, I had to wait 4 and a half hours just to be told I needed to ring ENT to book an appointment to see if I needed surgery, it was so frustrating waiting all that time for a 5 minute check up.

Handy having a nurse in the family, hope your nose isn't too painful!

If it goes as quickly as it did here you will be fine.

Just read on the news David Beckham was in a crash in London Colney! was there only two days ago (where I came from).

Morning all, according to Timehop, 4 years ago today was when the heavy snows came in the South East... My facebook statuses at the time cover this well!

For those who weren't on here 4 years ago, or have forgotten, my pregnant wife had left Epsom at 3 because of the snow coming. Due to heavy traffic, the gritters couldn't get out of their depot at Kingswood and this meant that she only managed to get down Reigate Hill and home at nearly 2am the next morning, having counted 36 abandoned cars on the way down!

My thanks to all who kept me sane on here and with offers of help to find Angie whilst I had an 18 month old to look after!

Back to old grey again this morning. The forecast for the next few days does not look promising  :lazy:

A dull foggy morning here, but it's not all that dense. If just looking out the downstairs window you'd think it was just cloudy here.

I remember that well Great Plum and was worried for you and your wife. For those in less stressful circumstances that was a fantastic snow event; fingers crossed for a 'proper winter' this year.

Usual mush here today but feeling reasonably seasonal, and I find myself wondering if there will be any more mows of the lawn before spring.

Surprisingly that epic cold blast, 2010 does feel quite a while back. We are certainly overdue a very cold February we came close in 2012? But apart from that in recent years we've had mild, spring like conditions, btw grass stops growing @ 4-7C next week we will be struggling to reach highs of 8C.

Run for the hills :shok::D

edit: no luck for me either furthest it goes back is 2011. I've put the dates in but no results found.

I tried looking through the archives for any threads on that snowfall but couldn't really find anything.

I only really remember the date of snow because of naming my piccys as Nov-10 snow. Came as a bit of a surprise, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, Kent wasn't supposed to get too much but it kept building up in the Thames to give us a Thames streamer. I remember that is continuously snowed for about 24 hours at one point. My house backs onto some farmers fields on a prevailing slope so it built right up and we measured 18-22in at some parts.

Can you imagine if that happened again? NW would crash!

NW has crashed several times before during snow events, that's normally when profile info on the left is turned off! I definitely remember the forum struggling during the 2010 winter.  :D

That was why the forums went to local. I believe. I'm still as excited as a small child by the prospect of snow, and I'm 52. I think it was the first snow down our round way since 2005.

Evening

After a bright and sunny day the night has returned, lacking the fog of last night so far, cool, calm and dry as she goes.

Thank you - it was pretty hairy for her, especially as the car was low on fuel so she couldn't keep the heating on...

After that, the snow was pretty epic! :)
