http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-30040238  Looks pretty much like the big storms last winter, note the idiot on the push bike, if he fell in people would have to risk their lives to save him, lost his common sense of had it educated away.....I blame the schools.

More storms this year then, never a dull moment.

saw that ,thought idiot was to kind a word for him ...

Squall line from the rain band came through here at about 3.45am. Some very intense rain and howling winds.

Threw 50 thousand tons of concrete at it and it still fails !!!!....

Each cubic meter of water weighs a metric tonne. So in each wave hitting against a wall there must be thousands of tonnes of water smashing into it at speed. Again and again and again. A helluva lot of energy!

Just imagine how much energy is contained in a large 950mb Atlantic storm, must be colossal.

A new thread to bring us up to date and take us through Autumn moving ever closer to Winter! The first batch of wet & windy weather has already made it's presence felt over the last 24 hours, the beginning of next week is also looking very wet and very windy especially for the N&W of the UK.

Discuss the potential for any stormy weather which may affect the UK. Post charts & analysis, keep us up to date with reports of whats happening in your local area and how the bad weather is affecting you.

Lets keep it civil, stay on topic and enjoy!

I wonder what the rest of Autumn has in store for us....

Well its not as bad as Buffalo in US  very dramatic pictures in the last 24 hours, 5 feet of snow, UK grumble if they get 2 inches

The ingredients are there if the models can pull it off!
