The suspension of Russia's anti-doping agency (Rusada) has been lifted despite widespread opposition.

The World Anti-Doping Agency's (Wada) executive committee ended a three-year-suspension which followed a major doping scandal.

Leading athletes, anti-doping bodies and Wada's vice-president Linda Helleland had opposed the move.

Wada said it had assurances from the Russian sports ministry, saying the country had "acknowledged" failures.

The Football Association has agreed to sell Wembley to Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan for £600m, according to the Financial Times.

The Pakistani-American businessman has been in talks to buy the national stadium since April, and an 'outline' deal has now been agreed.

The proposal will now have to be approved by The FA's 10-member board at a meeting on Thursday.

If the board backs Khan's purchase, the deal will be presented to a meeting of The FA's 127-member council at a meeting next month.

World chess championship starts on the 9th November in London between title holder Magnus Carlsen and Fabiano Caruana. Could be a very tight contest, Caruana may even edge it.

Russia and the old Soviet Union use to be the power house for chess but they have not held the world title for a over a decade and with players coming from China and India growing stronger over time, it may be sometime before someone from the old Soviet bloc holding the World title.

First game has ended in a 115 move draw marathon. Carlsen probably should have won it.

 Carlsen 0.5, Caruana 0.5

Carlsen 1.0, Caruana 1.0

Game 2 ended in a draw after 49 moves. Carlsen was white but Caruana played better than he did yesterday.
