post-4726-0-51342700-1414523451_thumb.jp Dodgy, take cover just in case. The pattern looks dangerous.

Very involved at work...Thanks mate

http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/Map/zoom.php?key=35&typ=euro#2, I remember that mostly that EQ,s on the main line accelerate Iceland activity a day or so later, even more alarming is the fact that there were two.

Hope it is all nothing but a blip, who knows.

The video needs an hour or so more, may be two, could watch the thing all night...

i don't know if anyone has viewed this site before but here are the strain counts

i am not familiar with these charts, but i suspect that the higher the strain the better of a EQ,total novice on this one

Morning Bards

Bard 2 up and running and shows a distinct rim is forming to the dyke. It looks as if a major lava pool is forming at the start of the dyke with raised sides.

A Major quake at about 5:45 this morning. It looked like a m5 but is confirmed at m4.8.

Another smaller one has just occured.

The GPS is falling steadily now.

Also of note are the clear conditions.

This allows one to see the cloud formation being formed by at the end of the dyke along the river. It is easy to see the steam rising over a large area and the convection (from the dyke?) carrying it to quite a height and where it then forms a large dark cb, which then noves SW to meet the SO2 being emitted by the central dyke area.

It is the first time that I have seen the effect of the water being convected so clearly.

More Earthquakes in Bárðarbunga, Heat Increases By Eygló Svala Arnarsdóttir October 29, 2014 08:56 Updated: October 29, 2014 10:17

bardarbunga_vatnajokull.jpg?itok=9Tz548r

Bárðarbunga. Photo: Páll Stefánsson.

Seismicity continues in Bárðarbunga volcano in Vatnajökull glacier. A magnitude 4.4 earthquake hit 11.5 km (7.3 miles) east of the volcano shortly before 2:30 last night and the strongest earthquake recorded there yesterday was magnitude 5.1.

Geothermal heat continues to increase in Bárðarbunga. Scientists on a surveillance flight above the volcano yesterday could clearly see cauldrons that had formed in the glacier on the western and southeastern rim of the caldera, ruv.is reports.

The largest cauldron has deepened by 25 meters (82 feet) in one month. Scientists link this development to the subsidence of the caldera, which now measures 40 meters. The subsidence cannot be detected with the naked eye as the caldera is 8 km wide.

The eruption in Holuhraun, north of Vatnajökull, continues. The lava erupting in a fissure there originates in the Bárðarbunga magma chamber and is channeled to the eruption site via an intrusive dike, which formed underground before the eruption started in August.

The eruption is visible on webcams, including one established by telecommunication company Míla in August.

The interesting thing is, cold war and disease beside this is about as close as it comes to being real nasty for us as a life form, like Laki, or worse, DNA improves from things like this, it gets tougher if it is still there after the said event. You know this is the most dangerous time of my life or anybody's since Laki in the 18th century,  In Volcanic terms, this is our lifetime top ATM...Everybody alive today.

The brighter the fire the more interesting the gas at the H vent.

Surely, the gas and the quakes signal a change?

Gradually the decompression of gasses allow melt to the mantle, just like gas welding or even soldering.

Things like surface tension tale on a whole new meaning with a gas axe...

Watcha Rusty nice to see you again.

The amount of gas this beast is belching is incredible. Just hope that it doesn't get worse

Hi mate, yes it is and in fact, we already knew, Askja is looking good in this pic...post-4726-0-62757600-1414614950_thumb.jp

Remember she suddenly stopped having 24/7 ice recently, last few years... Now we know, it is for real. Hope I grow old before it gets too bad...

Could take a while, but it is quite honestly looking bad on the gradual build up front. Light a thermal lance if you dare... The Earth is a complex pressurized jobby, it is not wise to let gas vent like this.....

Look what it was like, just a little later.post-4726-0-12247400-1414616688_thumb.jp 17:30 Iceland time.

The snow is building up in front of the camera despite visits from the  Iceland Met O in a Style that we Southern softeys from the GB isles only dream of in the the worst ever winter........ Gulp. Take it from me the Iceland lot are tough, but the webcam will be OFF occasionally...

Eeek I didn't notice these, that will be by the morning a ripple or two then, several high fives me thinks...Maybe, even higher.http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/Map/zoom.php?key=36&typ=euro#2

These recent events are unusual in having two EQ's together per event. Dangerous harmonics indeed...
