The crack of thunder at 1.30 was somewhere near hear, and as for Lassie, the shower about half an hour ago skirted to the north of here.

Surprisingly, it was still tee-shirt warm out, despite the breeze.

Ah.

No more rain, but there have been showers that have skirted good old Potters Bar.

Well the sunshine was pleasant enough, though a lot of cloud at times today with one or two showers. Maximum hovering around the 18/19C mark which is disappointing for mid-August.

Afternoon all

Just back from a walk into town, very warm still @19oC nearly, walk made in jeans and T-shirt still (no shorts for me anytime), very warm indoors where the sunshine has warmed up the inside quite a bit, had to shut the spare room curtains to keep it from being too warm to sleep later tonight (mistake I made yesterday).  Some fleeting showers today but nothing much, quite windy though.

First evening where I have thought that summer is over! It's raining heavy, it's breezy and the Robins are singing! There is also a huge double rainbow and it is very cool!

Mainly cloudy here again today with the odd brief shower. Much like yesterday, it felt warm when the sun broke through. Still feels mildish here now the wind after yesterday died down.

Only have to wait another four years before 70% of London Underground trains are fully air conditioned! Why so long! :unknw:

Capital Expenditure.... They have to raise the prices enough to off-set the spend, as there will be no payback. Just my theory!

The Bakerloo Line isn't going to get aircon until 2022 at the earliest. It's been too uncomfortable to travel on the central London section at all in recent weeks.

Friday and Saturday in so here goes

Posted Image

Westerly winds in the south, more northerly in the north.

That front could generate some lively showers, some thundery

Temperatures a little better in the south at 19-21C, cooler in the north at 16-19C

Saturday

Posted Image

Light north westerly

Fine with sunny spells, 19-22C

The models are suggesting that Sunday will be fine and a tad warmer still before going downhill on bank holiday Monday.

Much brighter start to the day than yesterday. Hopefully it won't feel too chilly outside.

Afternoon all

Some pleasant and warm sunny spells here, started the day with a thin top over short sleeve shirt, that was soon taken off, feeling comfortably warm here again, shed sensor is currently reporting 17.2oC, 20.8oC inside the house, currently have doors and windows open again.

As for talk of the "end of summer", not yet there is still some time to go for any major shift, it may feel like it, but only because we have been spoilt for a good part of this summer already.

Just had a light rain shower here in Potters Bar. Office thermometer says 25 degrees, but I'm sure it says that all year round.
