This is quite a meaty thunderstorm to wake to. The first thunder I heard was about an hour ago and seemed to rumble on for ages. Still regular lightning flashes and thunderclaps.

A completely different world up here, dry and clear all night. What a bummer.

Looks like the showers will keep going for southern counties, Anywhere north of the M4 looks dry and sunny.

Several thunderstorms during the night. Lots of close lightning - less than one second between lightning and thunder - meant a very disturbed sleep and an ongoing power cut too. Isle of Wight.

Almost 12 hours worth of storms here in Dover, not bad for November. Last storm finished here about 12:30 they started at about 1:30 last night. I did sleep so not sure if it was all night or if there were breaks, it did wake me now and then though.

Bit of very light rain this morning for the drive into work, enough to need the wipers on but not enough to stop them squeaking/jumping though.

Some sunhine through the day but plenty of cloud spoiling it too.  It may be a couple of degrees milder but sure does not feel like it.

There was a heavy shower over Dunmow, but alas nothing which I got caught in.

Just been out quickly before my hot scalding shower when I got back (loved that last bit) and it is still IMHO cool out, the term "milder" may apply to recent days but it is not warm out.

It's a little breezy here, not really all that bad at all.

I was joking

Afternoon

Seemed to get darker a lot ealier today, looking very cloudy out so expect rain is not the far away now, tiny little bit milder today, even managed a few bright intervals, but hardly became sunny though.

Being stuck in the office it did not bore me being dull, I try and open the blinds every morning to let the sun in and the first thing they all do is close them as soon as the sun comes out.

Sunny morning, cloudier afternoon. Might post some thoughts about the coming winter later :)

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
