Breeze has now subsided and the sky is 98% covered in cloud. Feels the mildest it has all day....

Cloudy and mild start here. It's going to be like this all day. Oh well not long until the weekend.

Afternoon

Dull start, followed by some nice sunshine, then the cloud returned this afternoon and back to dull again, bit of a breeze with it and noticed a hint of drizzle now, quite mild, but see it is set to cool down again soon.  Good job I am mostly in now for the next three days then (apart from some minor shopping needs and my weekly visit to the library that is )

Cloudy and mild here too, al least it remains dry for now, handy as I need to go shopping at some point, that should not take long, not sure if I dare hang the washing out though :unsure2:

Looks like it's going to rain just as i walk out to get bubs, but at least it's half term \o/. On a side note my arm aches from having an injection.

If it's going to rain/wind/hail/thunder/snow!?!/sleet it will at 3pm mon-fri.

It is now raining steadly with wind here. The type of rain that looks like drizzle but is heavier than drizzle and soaks everything instantly.

In terms of the bigger picture what are people thinking for winter?

The OPI and snow and ice numbers are making me happier than last year, I am sure we will see some falling snow, in some ways we are well placed as a Thames Streamer can dump the stuff even if the rest of the country fares better.

I think it will be better than last year for snow, can't really get any worse, but I'm not sure there will be any lengthy cold spells. If there is though I'll hope for a Kent clipper or channel low to be part of the spell.

Considering I have no idea what the OPI is on about. I must say that this year reminds me of 2010 (although with a hotter summer). I do hope we get enough snow to make up for the zero flakes we got last year.

Well, rain we were forcast today didn't/hasn't materialise to date.

Been dry here in daylight hours (so far), and have the fan rumbling away under my desk in work.

Another usual day down here, dry, murky and warm.

Been light rain here much of the afternoon, still mild for the time of year but tonight is looking like a change to cooler conditions.

This winter can't be any worse than last years if your looking for wintery precipitation. Wet sleet mixed in with rain would beat it... (For this location anyway)

Grey, dry and mild sums up today perfectly...

If you are on the search for cold, I'd recommend a one week break from model watching. Vile day cloudy, mild very unpleasant :( we are drawing ever so near to november, and the outlook is not looking great...

My experience from winter predictions and what actually happens is that it can all change and change very quickly. If I remember correctly for the last two years it has very much been a case of nowcastng and lampost watching. Was it 2010 that my area was supposed to miss out on snow and we awoke to find a big blanket of it.

It's just not worth getting stressed out over the models, sure they are helpful but ultimately it isn't an exact science and I have experienced all too often the opposite of what the models say happening.

In short: relax!

Was nice and sunny first thing now it is clouding over.

Same here, the cloud has rolled in now. Still bright, if a little disappointing.

Been a rather bright and sunny day this far here, nippy start and only just crawled into double digits on the oh sea scale, dry though which is nice after I got a soaking walking from wilkos to the pub yesterday evening (well seemed logical to stop somewhere dry at the time).

Nice sunny and quite warm feeling now, turned out a lovely day when the cloud cover burned off.

It's now a clear chilly evening.
