The morning was decent enough, the afternoon descended into a cloudy affair with showers.

Aaargh, clouds having affairs with showers! Whatever next!

It has been dry all day here but of course being on the coast the wind is rising a bit now. But for the Central South Coast this will be nothing more than a normal autumn gale.

Not expecting more than that here on the far SE coast. EA might get some of the stronger gusts though.

rather quiet start to the day in SE Essex, no wind, no rain ( at least that was what it was like when I left at 5am), its also pretty quiet in Central London so far.

Biggest gust recorded here so far today was 60mph at 10:28 this morning.

The damaging winds in the SE apear to be around convective parcels,hence the death and injury across the SE today from falling trees.Many reporting nothing of note in the region,but a gust of near on 55mph here in SE London earlier around a shower,none too shabby for a London suburb.

Completely underwhelming in this neck of the woods. Sun's out now, so at least the doggies will get their walk when I finish work. Looked a bit unpleasant out this morning so it was postponed. Never a good idea as, every time I even move from my office chair, they get massively overexcited.

Popped home for lunch to find our shed door wide open. Now the question is did the wind do it or a would be burglar? I don't think anything is missing.

Could be a hobo looking for  shelter from the storm! Happened around here, someone was living in a back garden without the residents knowing, until they found his body in the shed one morning! Showers have cleared, sunny and blustery! Colder now than it was this morning!

Afternoon

 

Similar conditions as above seen here, wet and windy start, then it turned calmer and the cloud cleared enough for some good lenghty spells of sunshine, noticable cooler (more so in the wind) but not cold, wind seems to have picked up a bit as the afternoon progressed but remains mostly sunny.

Wind did eventually start but it's still not strong. Had a squall through earlier that I think is when the strongest winds I have heard were. Now sunny and warm in the wind. Still Tea shirt weather.
