My journey to work was atrocious this morning with rainfall varying between heavy and torrential. The journey home wasn't great either. It just reminded me of how much I hated last winter. The only way is up from here and this coming weekend looks pretty good for this part of the world.

Morning all. I am back after a lovely summer although poor August lovely September.

Interesting start to Autumn propper. So the wet smelly trains with south eastern return. Interesting that really is a monster low driving the weather over the next few days. No thoughts yet for me on winter. I did think that it felt a little like 2010. End of Sept beginning Oct we need late October heat for me to be convinced. Feeling is could be eitgrr a record breaking wet winter or cold outbreaks but not sustained. Not sure at this moment btw this has no scientific proof just hunches and watching the strat thread and listening to experienced posters as opposed to the hyperbole of will it won't it snow

Awful day today between Ealing and Benfleet, very heavy rain for my morning commute, heavy rain on and off all day and near torrential rain for the journey home. Reminiscent of last winter so far this month

Strange watching the Radar this even though, it's all falling before it reaches Kent.

Had a total of 35mm in all. 26.0mm today and 9.0mm before midnight last night. Standing water on fields and the roads beginning to get muddy again. Still, it's put the forst few inches into my old pond that was clay lined last week.

Lots of big time flooding around here, but not the unusal places? Lots of accidents out there early evening, we were doing 40mph and could not see as the rain was that heavy! Yet cars flying past! Idiots!

Another dull and coolish day here, wind and rain has gone though, till the next system arrives tomorrow at least.

Very quiet on here.... Been a murky day here today, followed by sporadic heavy showers. Last one passed through about 30 minutes ago.

Well it was a little better today. A little sun and a little warmer. Still some drizzly showers here and there but nothing heavy.

rain arriving from the west around 2 ish and looks to be heavy in places

 

temps around 16-17 degrees

 

rain clearing the south around the time it gets dark

still a south west wind but lighter now

 

dry in the south but rain slowing clearing from the north

 

temps not cold but mist again locally

 

there is a trough which could travel across the south east late in the evening which can give a few flashes and some brief heavy rain

probably the dryest day
