Take the colour of the trees away and the skyline would have you think it's a July morning here in Kilmersdon this morning. Fine and sunny at 13C with a lighter SSW wind than yesterday and much less cloud. The webcam image available below dislays all.

16.9°C at 9:45am on October 28th. :O

You could easily mistake this as a photo from the Summer..

Yes a cracking morning after quite a heavy dew overnight, lots of moisture on all surfaces. The view out over the channel this morning to Old Harry is great, does look like summer.

18.2C and rocking down here, slight breeze just taking the edge of the temp from continually rising...

18.7°C here about an hour ago, but now the cloud cover is upon us and I guess that's it for sunshine for the rest of the day.  Made for a good morning looking round Minterne Gardens, colours are so much more spectacular in the sunshine.

I've just been having a quick mooch at some charts regarding the front moving south overnight, into tomorrow. The front weakens substantially across the Midlands, but it looks as though it may pep up again as it reaches southern counties.

Those areas of red & pink on the GFS show strong vorticity, enough to regenerate the front. Not only that, it seems some of us maybe sandwiched between that front, and a trough.

The possible result is that it turns in to heavy showers across southern counties. It doesn't look extreme by any means but a few may see some heavy bursts of rain tomorrow morning.

GFS: Rather weak looking around midnight..

Progression into the early hours..

Rather wet looking around rush hour. .

The hi-res model on a similar wavelength, showing it to be more showery.

No snow in the forecast, sorry.:laugh:

Seems a very warm late October day over the Midlands, 19.5c reached at Church Lawford.

Rain fragmented before it got here. A warm 17C today, lovely sunny morning, bright afternoon. Yet another dry dog walk!

The maximum of 16.3c here was the highest in the last week in October since I started recording at this site in 1977.

It just beat 16.2c on the 28th in 2009.

20.4c/69f  here today, certainly getting near a record for this time of year, if you look at the models we have the biggest ribbon of warm moist air over Europe

There's very light rain out there now, just enough to dampen the ground.

Just a quick one, regarding my post earlier.

The Euro4 still shows signs of frontal reinvigoration. Here's the difference between 3 and 9am.

It does seem to have reinvigorated from early, wondering how much stronger it'll build.

It's like a cool sauna out there this morning, mizzle & temps of 14.8°C, providing all the necessary ingredients.

Should any colder weather arrive, my word some folks around here are going to moan, they have had it so warm for so long, OMG

A cloudy and damp start today with some light rain. Some of the cooler air to the North has just about managed to filter in here with 9.5C here currently in a light NE breeze.
