It's barely reaching the ground Mapantz, only a few pimply spots here despite being under rainfall for over an hour. I am surprised though at how far South the weak Warm Front has got.

Yep. Ended up lucky, just a bit of drizzle for 20 minutes. :)

Kind of amused that yesterday saw an hour+ of pimply rain on what was forecast to be the only dry day of the week whereas today when dullness with drizzle on and off was expected it's bone dry and quite bright/warm!

Hi folks, a rather grey day here in  Earl Shilton (Leics). No rain yet and there are breaks in the cloud cover. The window cleaner has just been so expecting rain with in the hour, I'm sure the rain follows him about.

Anyway, I'm off to the model thread for a catch up on what's in store.

I'm still waiting for this rain? It was supposed to quite wet this morning, yet it's bright with the sun poking through now and again.

Currently 15.3°C

Nowhere near as bad as forecast today. Cloudy and damp, yes, but drizzle at best and mild at 13C.

steady rain has started in the past 30 mins or so here....interesting convective forecast from Nick Finnis.....looks a possibility for thunderstorms this afternoon, especially to the east of the region (by that I discount the Midlands, more the West Country)

'Interesting' line of showers pushing through parts of the W Mids currently, may turn thundery a little further east.

Certainly a very mild feel again after the more recent slight dip in temps.

Enjoy your weekend folks :) just don't forget, it's one hour back.

Indeed, looking north towards Birmingham the skies are very dark and full of the wet stuff, raining here in Solihull but nothing on the heavy side.

Regarding something thundery haven't heard anything of yet.

EDIT; That narrow band has just gone through, Very heavy pour down, lasted all but five minutes http://www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile

Oh! Yes, now't thundery.

So that explains what those loud crackling noises were - the Solihull heavy rain shield collapsing. ;)

But that shield does seem to have regained power now.

Absolute snooze fest all week (Autumn), finally the first bits of sunlight now in time for the weekend.

Roll on 18/19c Monday! if we can't get a decent high or early cold spell keep it warm for now.

Agree, Mapantz.  We've had about half an hour of light rain a little while ago, not been to check the gauge yet, but don't expect it to even have a covering in the bottom.  Max temp very similar here too.

Hi Folks - jusyt sigining in - getting ready for the winter season ahead - we've had a fairly good crop of weather these past few months and a very mildish winter last year - so I'm willing to bet this winter will bring something fairly severe in cold and snow - as the weather has a habit of balancing itself out - so we are due some cold and snow this year and could be quite severe - only a hunch - but worth keeping an eye on - hope you're all keeping well and looking forward to another cold season as the clocks are due to go back this weekend
