Rather confused ; Points West forecast showed scattered showers tomorrow afternoon, the national forecast straight after showed widespread showers in the same region from 05.00!? Not watched Countryfile yet to compare again, but why the difference?

A maximum of 19.5c made it the warmest day of the month here; 0.2c higher than the 10th. Bordering on too warm when out cycling, particularly on the climbs.

It's taking a long time for the mist/low cloud to burn off today, it seems to get far enough to allow glimpses of the sun then thicken up again. Warm and humid though at 19.8c & 89%.

Cloudy bits and pieces of rain today starting to brighten though, those showers seem to be developing to your north Bobby just after the trough.

Smoggy haze type day, max of 18.9c but feels muggy.

Ironic 'the change' this weekend will bring the first sunny Saturday in 10 weeks here!

What do you classify as a sunny day though Conor? In my new (2nd hand Ebay £4.00 ) book 'Regional climates of the British Isles' in the chapter for the Midlands they classify it as being over 6 hours, with 12 hours accounting for just 5% of the days between May and September:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Regional-Climates-British-Isles-Julian/dp/0415139309

Basically the Midlands sees proportionally sunnier weather during the Winter months cf the extended Summer.

Excellent reading BTW :)

Just been playing with the dog on the green opposite my house to see if I could hear or see anything. Was out there for half an hour and nothing. Although the sky is incredibly dark to my northwest. Still sferics in Shropshire so time yet...

Much of the Black Country and perhaps Brum seem to be in line for a thundery shower in the next hour or so.
